BELLEVUE, Wash. — Bellevue firefighter Sam Halbert will represent the United States at the 2026 World Rowing Championships, the Bellevue Fire Department announced on social media.
Halbert will compete at the international event alongside other members of the U.S. rowing team, including Blake Vogel, according to the department and US Rowing.

“You better believe our eyes will be peeled to the screen as he races (between emergencies, of course),” the department said. “Please join us in congratulating Firefighter Halbert on this huge accomplishment!”
The competition is scheduled for Aug. 24-30 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
