QUEZON CITY— The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines convened its members and partners for the TPB Members’ Night 2025: Community in Action at Solaire Resort North on November 18, 2025. With the theme “Creative Upcycling,” the event renewed focus on responsible tourism and climate action as foundational principles for the agency’s future direction.

TPB Members’ Night 2025: Community in Action anchored its theme on responsible tourism

In her address, TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles emphasized that this year’s Members’ Night provided an opportunity for the tourism community to reflect on its shared contributions in 2025 and to renew its commitment to sustainable, community-driven tourism. She pointed out the visible results of these efforts, mentioning how member-led initiatives have stimulated local economies, empowered communities, and fostered recovery in areas affected by calamities.

“Tourism becomes truly meaningful when it uplifts communities, protects our natural heritage, and is pursued with purpose,” she said. “The impact is real, and it proves the power of tourism when driven by intention and responsibility.”

Nograles highlighted the vital contributions of Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) members in promoting responsible travel through carefully designed familiarization tours and invitational programs conducted in several Philippine regions, including Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Tacloban City, Samar, Davao, Ilocos, Palawan, and Negros Island. These initiatives allowed travel professionals and stakeholders to immerse themselves in the unique culture, environmental wonders, and sustainable tourism practices of each destination. By actively participating, TPB members facilitated the sharing and protection of local stories, supported biodiversity conservation efforts, and helped lay the foundation for the long-term resilience of these destinations.

In addition, Nograles highlighted TPB members’ involvement in corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in La Union, Batanes, and Catanduanes. Here, members dedicated time and resources to initiatives—including environmental restoration, community capacity building, and livelihood development—to assist vulnerable areas and empower local residents. Their efforts were instrumental in revitalizing tourism-dependent communities and nurturing sustainable means of living.

COO Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles addressed TPB members with deep gratitude, thanking them for their steadfast trust and collaborative spirit as they work together toward the organization’s mission for responsible tourism nationwide.

To further its environmental advocacy, TPB supported the Philippine Tarsier Foundation through the Philippines’ participation in World Expo 2025 Osaka, thereby contributing to conservation efforts for one of the country’s most vulnerable species. This initiative aligns with TPB’s broader sustainability agenda, including minimizing single-use plastics on familiarization tours, encouraging the use of reusable materials, and conducting CSR projects focused on environmental protection and climate-responsive tourism.

The event also featured the launch of the TPB Membership Recognition Program, which celebrates members leading in sustainability, responsible tourism, innovation, and inclusivity. This year, top domestic performers Neomace Travel and Tours and Ilocos Heritage Tours were honored in the Tamaraw category. The Tarsier category, spotlighting environmental sustainability, was awarded to Evasion Tropicale Inc. and Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort. Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort received the Tandikan category for inclusive workplace practices. These awards reflect TPB’s and its partners’ aim to drive tourism growth with responsibility, creativity, and environmental care.

The event brought together over 300 TPB members from across the tourism value chain, reflecting a collective commitment to a more resilient and climate-conscious industry. As the night concluded, Nograles affirmed, “Our mission is far from over. We will continue to refine our practices, strengthen our climate initiatives, and pursue tourism that not only thrives but also protects. Together, we can ensure that the destinations we love endure for generations.”
