Plans for China's new "super" embassy in London have been approved by the government. It will be built within the historic Royal Mint site, which is next to the city's financial district and almost overlooks the Tower of London. Campaigners and opposition parties had called on ministers not to give the site the green light, due to it being close to strategically important internet cables that support the City of London.
