Nina Hotel Island South has entered a new chapter, unveiling a major renovation that transforms the Hong Kong property into a contemporary urban oasis designed for today’s families, business travelers and leisure seekers.

Nina Hotel Island South - Lobby

Nina Hotel Island South – Lobby

Located in Wong Chuk Hang on the south side of Hong Kong Island, just a short walk from Wong Chuk Hang Station and close to Ocean Park and Aberdeen, the hotel has refreshed its spaces with a warmer, more lifestyle-focused approach. The extensive renovation includes a reimagined lobby, 432 updated guestrooms and suites, and the introduction of Nina Communal, a flexible social space where guests can relax, work, dine and connect.

A New Look Inspired by Hong Kong Island’s Southside

Designed by LAUD Limited, the renovation takes inspiration from the natural landscapes of Hong Kong Island’s south side, bringing a sense of calm and understated elegance into the hotel.

The redesigned lobby combines natural wood, marble details and soft lighting in an open-plan setting that connects the reception, lounge and communal areas. Comfortable seating zones make the space feel less like a traditional hotel lobby and more like a welcoming social hub for families, groups and travelers between adventures.

The same design philosophy continues into the guestrooms, where natural oak, ivory-toned interiors, brown leather accents and green upholstery create a warm and contemporary atmosphere. Open layouts and natural light further enhance the feeling of space, offering guests a peaceful retreat after a day exploring Hong Kong.

Signature Balcony Suites and More Space for Families

The renovated Nina Hotel Island South features 432 rooms and suites ranging from 30 to 81 square meters, giving travelers a relatively spacious base in Hong Kong.

Among the highlights are six rooms with private balconies, 13 family rooms designed to accommodate up to five guests, and four Signature Balcony Suites located on the top floor, offering sweeping views across Hong Kong’s Southside. The property’s refreshed family rooms and suites are scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2026.

The family-friendly room options are particularly appealing for multigenerational trips and groups traveling together, while the balcony suites offer an elevated experience for guests seeking extra space and outdoor views.

Nina Communal Brings Guests Together

One of the most notable additions is Nina Communal, a vibrant communal lounge introduced as part of the hotel’s redesigned social spaces.

Spanning approximately 260 square meters, the lounge is designed as a place where guests can cook, eat, drink, socialize, work, and play. It features a communal pantry and a stylish bar, creating a flexible environment that suits everything from a casual drink with friends to remote work, meetings, or quiet downtime.

The Island South location marks the third Nina Communal concept within the hotel group, following similar spaces at Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West and Nina Hotel Kowloon East. With its relaxed yet polished atmosphere, the new lounge reflects the growing demand for hotel spaces that extend beyond the guestroom and encourage connection and flexibility.

An Urban Base for Exploring Hong Kong

Beyond its refreshed accommodations and communal spaces, Nina Hotel Island South remains well positioned for travelers looking to explore a different side of Hong Kong.

The hotel is about five minutes from Wong Chuk Hang Station and is close to Ocean Park and Aberdeen, making it a convenient base for family holidays and Southside explorations. Guests can also enjoy Southeast Asian flavors at I-O-N, along with facilities such as meeting rooms, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool.

For visitors who want the convenience of Hong Kong Island without staying in its busiest commercial districts, the renovated property offers a more relaxed alternative. Its combination of spacious rooms, family accommodation, social spaces, and easy access to nearby attractions gives the hotel broader appeal for short city breaks, business trips, and extended stays.

With its transformation now complete, Nina Hotel Island South presents a fresh vision of urban hospitality—one that balances contemporary design with comfort, flexibility and a stronger sense of community. For families needing room to spread out, travelers seeking a quieter Hong Kong base or long-stay guests looking for more than a conventional hotel experience, the newly reimagined property offers a stylish reason to look south.
