Planning your 2027 travels early? Filipinos have several opportunities for long weekends next year, including a four-day Holy Week break and another four-day break around All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

2027 Philippine Holidays and Long Weekends

2027 Philippine Holidays and Long Weekends

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed Proclamation No. 1427 on September 8, 2026, declaring the official regular holidays, special non-working days, additional special non-working days, and one special working day for 2027. The proclamation includes 10 regular holidays, eight special non-working days, and one special working day. The dates for Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha will be announced separately.

For travelers, 2027 offers six natural long weekends based on holidays that fall on Saturdays or Sundays. These are ideal opportunities for quick domestic getaways, staycations, family trips, and international vacations.

2027 Regular Holidays in the Philippines

Here is the official list of regular holidays for 2027:

Date Day Holiday
January 1 Friday New Year’s Day
March 25 Thursday Maundy Thursday
March 26 Friday Good Friday
April 9 Friday Araw ng Kagitingan
May 1 Saturday Labor Day
June 12 Saturday Independence Day
August 30 Monday National Heroes Day
November 30 Tuesday Bonifacio Day
December 25 Saturday Christmas Day
December 30 Thursday Rizal Day

The 2027 regular holiday schedule was officially announced through Proclamation No. 1427.

2027 Special Non-Working Holidays

The following dates are declared special non-working days:

Date Day Holiday
February 6 Saturday Chinese New Year
March 27 Saturday Black Saturday
August 21 Saturday Ninoy Aquino Day
November 1 Monday All Saints’ Day
November 2 Tuesday All Souls’ Day
December 8 Wednesday Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
December 24 Friday Christmas Eve
December 31 Friday Last Day of the Year

The government added November 2 and December 24 as additional special non-working days to give Filipinos more time for traditional family and holiday activities and to support domestic tourism.

Special Working Day in 2027

February 25, 2027, Thursday, will be observed as a special working day in observance of the 41st anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

This means February 25 will not provide an additional day off from work.

2027 Long Weekends in the Philippines

January 1 to 3, 2027: New Year’s Day

Friday to Sunday, 3 days

The year starts with a three-day weekend. New Year’s Day falls on Friday, January 1, followed by the regular Saturday and Sunday weekend.

This is a good opportunity for a short post-holiday trip. Popular options include Tagaytay, Batangas, Baguio, La Union, Cebu, and nearby beach destinations.

March 25 to 28, 2027: Holy Week

Thursday to Sunday, 4 days

Holy Week provides one of the longest natural breaks of the year. Maundy Thursday falls on March 25, followed by Good Friday on March 26 and Black Saturday on March 27. Easter Sunday falls on March 28.

For travelers, this is one of the busiest periods of the year. Book flights, hotels, buses, ferries, and tours well in advance.

April 9 to 11, 2027: Araw ng Kagitingan

Friday to Sunday, 3 days

Araw ng Kagitingan falls on Friday, April 9, creating another three-day weekend.

This is a practical window for a quick domestic trip. Consider destinations that are accessible by land or short flights to avoid spending too much time in transit.

August 28 to 30, 2027: National Heroes Day

Saturday to Monday, 3 days

National Heroes Day falls on Monday, August 30, giving Filipinos a three-day weekend.

August is a good time to plan a city break, resort stay, or short domestic vacation, depending on the weather conditions at your chosen destination.

October 30 to November 2, 2027: All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day

Saturday to Tuesday, 4 days

This is another four-day break in the 2027 calendar.

All Saints’ Day falls on Monday, November 1, while All Souls’ Day falls on Tuesday, November 2. The two holidays connect with the preceding weekend, creating four consecutive non-working days.

Expect heavy traffic on major highways and busy airports, especially as many Filipinos travel to their hometowns for Undas.

December 24 to 26, 2027: Christmas Weekend

Friday to Sunday, 3 days

Christmas Eve falls on Friday, December 24, followed by Christmas Day on Saturday, December 25, and Sunday, December 26.

This creates a three-day Christmas break. However, the end-of-year calendar offers additional opportunities for extended time off.

Other Holidays Worth Planning Around

Bonifacio Day falls on Tuesday, November 30. It does not create a natural long weekend, but taking leave on Monday, November 29 can turn the weekend into a four-day break.

Rizal Day falls on Thursday, December 30, followed by Last Day of the Year on Friday, December 31. New Year’s Day 2028 then falls on Saturday, creating another extended holiday period for people who can take additional leave days.

Christmas Day itself falls on Saturday, so employees should check their company policies regarding holiday observance and work schedules.

Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha 2027

The dates of Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha are not yet included in the fixed 2027 calendar because the government will issue separate proclamations once the dates are determined based on the Islamic calendar and astronomical calculations.

Both are expected to be declared regular holidays. Travelers should wait for the official announcements before treating the dates as confirmed long weekends.

How to Maximize the 2027 Long Weekends

Filipinos who want to maximize their vacation days should plan leave around the holidays that fall on Mondays, Fridays, Thursdays, or Tuesdays.

The most useful opportunities include:

  • January 1: Take advantage of the New Year weekend.
  • March 25 to 28: Use Holy Week for a four-day domestic or international trip.
  • April 9 to 11: Plan a three-day weekend getaway.
  • August 28 to 30: Take advantage of National Heroes Day.
  • October 30 to November 2: Plan an Undas family trip or vacation.
  • November 30: Take November 29 off for a potential four-day break.
  • December 24 to 26: Use the Christmas weekend for a short trip.
  • December 30 to January 2: Consider taking leave around Rizal Day and New Year for a longer year-end vacation.

2027 Is a Good Year to Plan Travel Early

The 2027 holiday calendar gives Filipino travelers several predictable opportunities to plan ahead. The biggest breaks are concentrated around Holy Week, Undas, Christmas, and New Year, while April and August offer shorter three-day weekends.

For popular destinations, early planning matters. Domestic flights, resorts, hotels, ferries, and bus routes can sell out quickly during peak holiday periods. Travelers should also check weather conditions before booking, particularly for beach destinations during the rainy season.

The official holiday calendar is based on Proclamation No. 1427, but travelers should continue checking government announcements for any later changes, additional declarations, or the official dates of Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha.
