SEOUL — LG Electronics (LG) today announced the global introduction of its new premium gaming monitor line, UltraGear evo™, which will be showcased at CES 2026. Building on LG’s leadership in 5K and 5K2K gaming displays, UltraGear evo broadens high-resolution gaming with a range of monitors over 5K, including OLED, New MiniLED, and ultra-wide options. These monitors deliver exceptional resolution, speed, and immersive experience across various sizes and formats. The initial UltraGear evo lineup includes three flagship models – 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B – all built around the core principle of high-resolution quality.

Central to this evolution is LG’s dedication to maintaining exceptional image quality, supported by a new on-device AI system. This proprietary technology enables the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling, delivering impressive 5K-level clarity without requiring GPU upgrades. Gamers can access a broader selection of content in high definition, surpassing original resolution boundaries.
39-Inch 5K2K OLED Gaming Monitor With 5K AI Upscaling
The LG UltraGear evo 39-inch GX9 (39GX950B) continues the GX9 series tradition as a 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor that offers exceptional visual quality and immersive play. It features a new on-device AI that analyzes and improves content in real time before it displays, providing stunning 5K-like clarity without needing GPU upgrades. Beyond just resolution, it includes AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound, which enhance both images and audio for a richer audiovisual experience.
LG’s Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology boosts visual performance, offering better brightness, accurate colors, and longer panel life, with perfect blacks and vibrant hues. The Dual Mode feature adapts to various gaming styles by switching smoothly between 165Hz at 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD, supported by an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time. This allows gamers to choose between stunning visuals or ultra-smooth competitive gameplay.
LG UltraGear EvoThe 1500R-curved 21:9 ultrawide display maintains the vertical height of a 32-inch screen while broadening horizontal immersion, ideal for gaming and multitasking. Featuring a pixel density of 142 PPI and VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 500 certification, it provides detailed highlights and deep blacks, even in the darkest scenes.
World’s First 5K New MiniLED Monitor solving for blooming
The LG UltraGear evo 27-inch GM9 (27GM950B) redefines 27-inch gaming monitors as the first 5K New MiniLED display designed to significantly reduce blooming. It effectively minimizes halo effects typically seen in high-resolution MiniLED screens, providing professional-grade 5K clarity with outstanding optical precision. With 2,304 local dimming zones and Zero Optical Distance technology that reduces the gap between the panel and the LED, this monitor offers ultra-bright luminance and superior contrast, preserving intricate details in both bright and dark scenes.
Similar to the 39-inch GX9, the 27GM950B features an on-device AI system that provides 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound, improving image and audio quality in real time without putting strain on the GPU.
The monitor delivers versatile gaming performance with Dual Mode, allowing you to switch between 165Hz at 5K resolution and 330Hz at QHD, with a quick 1ms (GtG) response time. It is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified and can reach a peak brightness of 1,250 nits, ensuring vivid highlights, intense flames, and sharp flashes of light are displayed with striking realism alongside deep, controlled blacks.
World’s Largest 52-Inch 5K2K 240Hz Gaming Monitor
The LG UltraGear evo 52-inch G9 (52G930B) introduces a new class of large-format gaming displays as the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor, offering gamers an unprecedented range of screen sizes within the UltraGear evo lineup. The expansive scale is paired with a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate, ensuring consistent responsiveness and image fidelity.
LG UltraGear Evo AI 2026The large screen has a vertical height similar to a standard 42-inch 16:9 display, but it stretches horizontally for a wide 12:9 panoramic view. This shape offers a workspace that is 33 percent wider than a typical UHD monitor. Its 1000R curvature surrounds the user’s peripheral vision, creating a smooth, immersive experience. The visuals are striking, with bright colors and strong contrast, confirmed by VESA Display HDR™ 600.
“The new UltraGear evo marks a definitive turning point, signaling the end of compromises in gaming display performance. With innovations like industry-first 5K AI Upscaling, the lineup ensures that whether gamers prefer perfect blacks, unmatched brightness, or expansive scale, they can enjoy the same high standard of performance, clarity, and immersion in high resolution,” said Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “This reflects our excellence in delivering high-resolution technology not only to the B2C gaming market but also through precision-driven B2B solutions like medical monitors.”
The new LG UltraGear evo lineup, which aims to set a higher standard, will be showcased at CES 2026. Attendees can enjoy the premium visuals of the evo series in two areas: the “Dream Setup,” inspired by Reddit’s gaming communities, and a racing simulation powered by SimCraft, featuring the new 39-inch GX9.
Alongside the new evo series, the UltraGear™ GX7 (27GX790B) will be available globally starting on CES 2026’s opening day. This 27-inch gaming monitor boasts a QHD Primary RGB Tandem OLED display, a 540Hz refresh rate, and Dual Mode (HD 720Hz), catering to the needs of serious gamers.
AI features such as 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound are exclusively available on the 39GX950B and 27GM950B models equipped with the on-device AI solution.
