Rescue teams are racing against time to find survivors after a powerful earthquake struck southern Japan, with the death toll rising to 18. Dozens of people have been injured, while tens of thousands remain without power and water after the tremor hit Kumamoto prefecture on the island of Kyushu. The earthquake was also felt in neighbouring South Korea as emergency crews continue search and rescue efforts.
