Israel says it will shut the UK consulate in Jerusalem after Britain sanctioned illegal West Bank settlements. The country's foreign minister said it was moving to close the UK's only outpost in the West Bank and Gaza - and was barring 12 MPs from entering the country. Ed Miliband, the UK foreign secretary, said the sanctions banned the trade of anything produced in the occupied West Bank. Mr Miliband said "ethnic cleansing" was being carried out by "settler terrorists", with settlements being set up in contravention of international law.
