The fire service reported that a fire was reported at 2:51 PM at the Wan Fook Courthouse in Tai Po. At 3:34 PM, the fire was upgraded to Level 4, the second-highest fire danger level. Footage shows flames and thick clouds of grey smoke billowing from the towers of the Wang Fuk Court housing complex on Wednesday afternoon. Wang Fuk court is made up of eight blocks, providing about 2,000 residential units. The cause of the fire is unknown, but the flames are believed to have spread quickly through bamboo scaffolding that covered the outside of the tower blocks.
