Sacred Cross EMS is rallying support for Herstle Renfroe, a longtime EMS provider and volunteer firefighter whose family died in a Parker County house fire

PARKER COUNTY, Texas — A fundraiser has been established for a North Texas first responder who lost his wife and two sons in a house fire Monday night.

Herstle Renfroe has worked with Sacred Cross EMS for eight years and served as a volunteer firefighter with the Palo Pinto Volunteer Fire Department. He was at work when his home near Weatherford in Parker County caught fire shortly before 10 p.m.

Sacred Cross EMS identified the victims in a public Facebook post as 31-year-old Alexis Renfroe, 10-year-old Cody Lock Jr . and 4-year-old Alekzander Joshua Renfroe.

“For years, Herstle has answered the call when others were facing some of the worst moments of their lives,” the ambulance service said in the post. “Today, it’s our turn to answer the call for him.”

All donations to the Mineral Wells Area News Corp’s Benevolent Fund for First Responders will go to Renfroe to help with funeral expenses and ongoing needs.

Sacred Cross EMS is asking for prayers and privacy for Renfroe as he navigates this life-altering tragedy.

“If you aren’t able to donate, you can still help tremendously by sharing this post so we can surround a first responder who has spent more than a decade serving others with the same support he has given his community,” the post reads.

The MWAN Benevolent Fund for First Responders was established to provide financial assistance to first responders and their families following catastrophic events, unexpected tragedies or other significant hardships.
