Alex Eala kept her US Open dream alive after defeating Ukraine’s Oleksandra Oliynykova 6-1, 6-4 to reach the third round of the year’s final Grand Slam, delivering a composed performance that sent Filipino fans into celebration.

Under the bright lights of New York and backed by another vocal Filipino crowd, Eala came out with purpose.
