Halo is no stranger to second chances. Adopted from the Fauquier SPCA by Mr. and Mrs. Dellinger in 2014, the little Yorkie has spent years surrounded by the love of his family. But on this day, an unexpected adventure left him stuck beneath the ground, prompting an urgent response from local authorities.

After the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office received the call, help arrived without hesitation. Members of the Fauquier County Fire Rescue System worked carefully to reach the trapped pup, knowing that one wrong move could make an already stressful situation even more difficult.

A Rescue Filled With Patience and Compassion

The rescue effort required patience, teamwork, and a gentle approach. Underground, Halo remained trapped in the narrow tunnel while rescuers worked methodically above him. Every moment mattered as they carefully dug through the earth, determined to bring him back to safety.

B.C. Mackison, Lt. McDonald, Tech. Stroop, and Tech. Plaster led the effort with remarkable care. Their focus remained on protecting the frightened senior dog while navigating the challenges of the deep burrow.
